Born and raised in southern and central California, Dr. Geoffrey Phillips comes from a long family line of Californians - eight generations to be exact.His early education began with degrees in English and French literature. After that, he worked as an editor for a medical corporation and then ventured into medicine. Dr. Phillips received his medical degree at the University of California, Irvine and remained at UCI to complete his residency in Psychiatry, he also traveled to the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research in Philadelphia to earn a specialized certification in Cognitive Therapy.He currently provides individual and group therapy treatment to patients in his private practice as well as inpatient care at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, Tree House Orange County Crisis Residential Program and Able to Change Recovery. He also enjoys writing, creating books for all brains and all ages. Each book focuses on increasing awareness of cognitive therapy concepts and can be shared with oneself, family and friends.
